Muckraking Connection

Muckraking is defined as "searching for and exposing misconduct in public life". It is the backbone, the pièce de résistance, and the je ne sais quoi of this novel. Michael Moore researched, read about, interviewed, watched, and pretty much stalked every detail within to make Stupid White Men educational, scintillating, and scandalizing. With his reveal of several incredibly controversial things involving politicians, greed, large amounts of money, and stupidity, he has certain public figures shaking in their Armani dress shoes. It's a classic display of muckraking and public humiliation, where one man bribes sources to tell him the dirty secrets of people in the up-and-ups. Moore is known for his bestselling documentaries, but this certainly takes the cake. He would leave Upton Sinclair frozen in horror and amazement at these cold facts. With his sarcastic, cynical, writing style, Moore thinking no and meaning yes. Stupid White Men leaves nothing to be twisted around by the almost unrealistically farcical personages portrayed as who they really are behind the mask of lies. What would Bush reply to this legal, truthful slander? "Bring them on."
